DP Theme: Supermarket
Hero supermarket has been around forever as far as I know. It was founded in 1971 and has been providing good services to its customers ever since. There are many new supermarkets nowadays, but Hero seems to be strong enough to keep up with the challenges. And they now have hundreds of outlets throughout Indonesia.
Today is a theme day for Daily Photo blogs.

Big chain. Why is everything in English. Hero, shop'n'go, new stand, et-cetera. Is this an English community?

Carol,Hero has outlet in malls and they have free standing ones.
Rudy, Not everything is in English in Jakarta. However it is, I guess a trend in big cities in Asia to have English named stores and brand.As the population of Jakarta is incredibly diverse one might argue that it is easier for people to know the name if its english.So no its not an english community

Cool shot Santy! Yeah i think that's the growing trend in Asia, to use english named stores/brands...it maybe because all of us want to create an international brand....and not just local :)
